To eat à la Ishtar & Nettus, here is how you do it.
Cook the following in a black casserole in the solar oven:
The Simple Curry Casserole Recipe
2 chopped carrots
2 sliced paprikas
1 handful of yellow beans
Yellow curry
Salt
Pepper
Set out in your solar oven for a couple of hours (4 should be enough).
When the food was ready, I took it out and mixed it with:
2 handfuls of fresh spring onions (I LOVE fresh onion in cooked food!)
1 large table spoon of locally made peanut butter (has a sharper taste than the imported one from America)
Eden nuts (or any other nut you have available)
1 dl of milk
In this case, we served it with some solar cooked sorghum, but you can have it with rice or pasta as well. Rice cooks well in the solar oven but pasta is trickier as it overcooks if you leave it too long.
…And voilà, dinner is served! Our personal preference is in the sunshine on the veranda, looking out on the horses and listening to the birds singing in the trees. Enjoy!!!
