I had an easy-going day today spent with a very old friend who recently came back from Kenya. We had so much to talk about! She invited me for lunch, coffee and dessert in town (I am being fattened up!), and then we went back to my sister’s apartment and met with my niece Tabita, who was charming as usual.
One of the few minuses with my life is there is all too often far too little time to catch up with the people who matter, but I think that the older we get, the greater the chance of them coming for a visit. And as I know I will probably be spending very little time in Sweden in the near future, I am hoping my friends will take the opportunity to come and see me instead! If all goes according to plan, I will head back to Niger on March the 20th. I do not know how long I will stay, but it might be a while since the flight back and forth to Europe is expensive and I don’t know when I’ll be able to afford it the next time. Although I’m sorry to be missing so many people this year, it feels right to be heading back and continue the work I have been so involved with for the past seven months.
