I've been sleeping outside every since - it's great! Sometimes the dogs (not ours!) are a bit loud, but I sleep through most howling symphonies in the end. I wake up at half past five every morning from being cold, but that is kind of an enjoyable treat now that warm season is on its way! And an extra blanket is all it takes to make use of the last half an hour of sleep available before it's time to get up and go to work. Sleeping outside has done wonders to my rhythm, for I now get sleepy much earlier in the evenings and have started going up earlier as well. It makes me feel as if I get more out of the day!

I love to sleep outside on a porch or veranda. The stars over your head and the sunrise never look better. What a good idea - try it again with more blankets and a sweater. We're still freezing here on the East Coast of the US - Spring, where are you?

We have mosquitoes nets on all the windows plus mosquito net clad hangars. So when we sleep on the veranda, we sleep under a mosquito net hangar, which keeps most insects out. We also have a few (vegetarian) lizards on our veranda, that eat whatever bug that manages to slip through our security system. Seeing they feed so much from my plants, there can't be much live protein flying around there!

Do you have problems with mosquitoes? In Moçambique, we suffered the heat indoors because if we moved out, we'd be eaten alive. That tended to result in malaria for most people. If you have mosquitoes, please get a net.
