The Norwegian documentary Sultbløffen is on the move. It will air on the Swedish channel TV4 on Sunday 7.20 pm. Here is a rough translation of what they write:
Norwegian TV2: ”The famine in Niger exaggerated”
Summer 2005
During the summer of 2005, a tragic drama unfolded on our TV screens. A documentary produced by Norwegian TV2, shows that the people of Niger have did not see it that way. Nearly three years ago, the world could follow how over 3 million people were effected by an acute famine in the West African country Niger. The first report came from the BBC and their reporter Hilary Andersson. The images of emaciated children spread throughout the media agencies and the UN pleaded for help. People in the West donated money, and the aid organisations were soon delivering sacks of food to the villages of Niger.
“Haven’t seen anyone die of hunger”
When the Norwegian TV-program Dokument 2 examined how correct the given image was, they found that the people in the most affected area had not experienced the situation in the same way.
- I have never heard that someone should have died of hunger. We suffered a lot, but that the famine should had taken anybody - that I haven’t seen,” says Hadija Kadija.Kalla fakta Sunday 7.20 pm

After it has been aired I think anyone can watch it on TV4:s webpage, so you should put up a link on Sunday evening!
I forgot to mention that the Swedish version will be shorter than the Norwegian one, in order to fit the Kalla Fakta time frame.
