So the girls thought I went on a shopping spree, which I did, but the thing about Niger is that you never know what you’re going to find, and so when you find something, you buy it! Just like my mother, I love to “have things on hold”, for you never know when you will need it. Anyway, here is a little taste of what the market of Zinder had to offer this week:

I found this particular fabric in two different shades, but the blue fabric has already been sent off with the tailer to make a tunic and matching pants.

This creative pattern will make a beautiful dress one day, but I am still working on the model!

I fell in love with this blue fabric as soon as I saw it, but now that I’ve brought it home, I am left wondering if Anette might not appreciate even more than I. If so, it’ll lie in my wooden trunk and await her return.

This beautiful typical African tissue had a color merge that I fell in love with. I have yet to figure out what I intend to do with it, as I would not be able to wear too much of it at the same time. It would make a fabulous table cloth and matching couch cushions, but our living room goes in cyan, so that wouldn’t work. But seeing taste is timeless, I’ll just hold on to it until the right time arrive to bring it out of the trunk!
