One of the things I dislike about the drivers of the other aid projects that have settled in our neighborhood is that they drive recklessly on a sand alley where kids see the street as an extension to the garden.
Coming back from work the other day, I found Munir in front of my gate, doing his homework, and to me, that was such a charming incident that I had to take a picture of it!
Munir did not mind at all, because being taken picture of is an honor, rarely bestowed on children.
A boy taking his homework seriously
A “cabo-cabo” driver (motorcycle taxi man) stopped when he saw the scene, for he could not make out what I found so spectacular that I esteemed the situation worthy of the attention of my camera! I am not sure he really understood it, but once he’d seen that the scene was for real, he drove away with a large smile on his face. I love those situations!

One time he went over to see what kind of homework the boy was doing, and it was geometry, so Tim was able to help him, and then started tutoring him. It was a little tricky at first for Tim, doing geometry in French because of the different vocabulary for geometric terms, but it became easier for him.
