The rainy season is a cool thing. There is so much action in the sky all the time! I am pretty sure that a professional photographer would have a field week just walking around and documenting different angles of the landscape!
As for myself, I was having fun the other day coming down from the field station. The sun was shining above us, but in the horizon, a neighbouring village was having an immense downpour! It was cool!
See the rain pouring down under the clouds?
You know what this picture makes me think about? How the sun is always there, even when it rains. It’s just that we don’t see it!

I remember lots of double rainbows when I lived in northern Tanzania. We got some in Zimbabwe, too.
African rain clouds over the plains are a spectacular sight. Love your photos.
Very nice! I like
@Taurantinzwe: We do get rainbows, but not that many. I’ve never seen double ones thought, that must be really cool! If you have any pictures on your blog, post a link, will you? I totally agree that there is something unique about African rain clouds. Somehow, the stark light manages to pass underneath the clouds which just illuminates the entire scenery in a breathtakingly beautiful way!
@Nafiou: Thanks for stopping by! And welcome to the blogosphere of Niger, by the way!
