I woke up today after a seventeen (!) hour long sleep and was reminded of the existence of “perfect things”. Tiles in the bathroom floor that are not cracked, walls that are straight and meet other walls at a perfect angle, taps that hold together and do not leak, fruit that are big and colourful, roads that are so straight so you wonder how they managed to fix EVERY hole. And yet…
I miss Niger. No great surprise there, right?
Imagine…
…just a few days ago, I was having breakfast consisting of solar cooked sorgo, milk and bananas: bananas that taste so much you can savor each bite…
…the sky was bright blue…
…and all around me, there was colour!
The good news however is that five weeks pass in a flash! Sweden is nice for a short while, and I am lucky to soon be heading back to Niger again! Now I think I’ll head off and get some much needed sleep. 17 hours was just an appetizer it seems!
