My week in Dalarna was a wonderful break from everyday things and also a unique chance to experience a little more of Sweden than I normally do. After a hectic season in Niger, spending quality time in the forest and looking out over the lakes was just what I wanted.
One of our excursions was to the height of Vidaberg, which overlooks the Siljan. The view was amazing!
Siljan, in Dalarna in central Sweden, is the country’s sixth largest lake. The cumulative area of Siljan and the adjacent, smaller lakes 354 km². Siljan reaches a maximum depth of 120 m, and its surface is situated 161 metres above sea level. The lake is located around the southwestern perimeter of the ‘Ring of Siljan’, a circular geological formation which was formed […] by a major meteorite impact. The original crater, now mostly eroded, is the largest known impact crater in Europe (excluding Russia). Some people suspect that there might be oil in the area, but drilling has been unsuccessful so far. There are large deposits of lead and zinc in the Boda area.

On a concluding note, there is are few things as “life qualitish” as spending time in nature and enjoying the scenes that have yet to be spoiled by man! Love it!! This post gets a makes me happy tag for sure!

Snyggingar!
You do great travelogues! I’m seeing more of Sweden than I have ever seen. It’s fun to be a tourist sometimes. What is the work that you do when you go back to Sweden?
I love your travel blogs also. It seems that we appreciate everything more when we travel. Congrats on the filly by the way! Loved that post also. Looking forward to hearing more. I’m actually hoping that by some chance the next time I visit Ethiopia, perhaps I could add a visit to Ishtar….one never knows. Be safe and have fun
Å andra sidan skulle du kunna sitta i en betongkloss och plötsligt bli överväldigande lycklig bara för att solen kom fram en stund…lägg möjligtvis till en apelsin så är lyckan total…
