Last week, Isolde had the adventure of her life, when she followed her mother outside for the first time. It was small excursion, crossing the road in order to get to Josef and Renate’s large garden, but the world outside offered more than enough impressions for the young filly, who desperately tried to get in contact with the motorcycles (who unfortunately did not answer her back).
Someone however is growing by the day! Did you say long legs, Photogchic? She’s growing like a giraffe right now, and looking so lovely too!
Like mother, like daughter! Aren’t they beautiful? And I have yet to meet the little one!
Arwen & Isolde, walking off in the huge garden.
Freedom!
Lots of freedom!
Arwen wasn’t all the happy about having Isolde run around like crazy, but the filly couldn’t keep herself.
Every little once in a while, she would get back to the people just to greet. Here she is, nibbling Ali’s hand, just before she rushes off again…
Look at that! Someone means business, and will have no problems following cue when Ishtar takes Arwen out for some fasts gallops on our bush trails!
As soon as they got back home again, Isolde dropped to the floor for some serious napping!
For whoever thought it was easy to train for a future career in racing???
I can’t wait until I get to meet the little one!

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackEsther…you must be so anxious to see Isolde. When will you go back to Niger? She is lovely!!!alright!!!
Is racing really in her future?
Lori
Wow! She is so straight and stunning! I wish all of you sunlight, breezes and good things.
@Lori: I’m flying on Monday, and so yes, I am very anxious to see Isolde for the first time! As for her future career, we have yet to see, but racing is definitively a heavy option. Her mother loved it and is the most renowned racing mare in the Zinder region. Sahara is actually faster but a sore loser, so she hasn’t made it to the top in the same way. In Niger, racing is more about willpower than strength, and from what I’ve seen so far, Isolde seems to have her mother’s determination and love for speed. That love won’t be diminished as Isolde gets to follow her mother and Sahara when Anette & I galloping in the bush!
@Fe: Thanks! I can only agree
What a lovely filly…looks like a race horse already. I bet she’ll be trotting along with you and her mother on your trips through the bush very soon.
@Pat: I’m pretty sure she’ll be racing ahead of us soon! She’s a pretty determined lady who loves speed as much as her mother and official owner!
Looks like she can run with the best of them.
