Sheba in a very relaxed pose
Deep sleep!
Sheba is a wonderful dog! If I ever thought highly of the Rhodesian Ridgeback as a breed, I am amazed by its character after being a first owner for less than 48 hours. She’s an independent soul who doesn’t want to be told what to do (but […]

After five weeks in Sweden, I’m looking forward to go back to Niger. The best thing about going away is that it makes you all the more eager to go back again! The great differences between life in Sweden and life in Niger is probably one of the reasons why I am so fond of […]

My time in Sweden is almost up: we fly back to Niger on Monday! Five weeks have gone of which one full week went to a lovely vacation in Dalarna, visiting Hanna.
One of the last excursions Hanna had planned was the Långbrygga in Rättvik, overlooking the beautiful Siljan Lake.
Rättvik is a worldwide-known small town because […]

Late Monday afternoon, my father and I drove down to Landskrona to pick up one lovely little Rhodesian Ridgeback lady, who had grown many sizes since we saw her last! (and that wasn’t very long ago!)
This was evident when we tried the first carrier, which was way to small!
This one however fit perfectly! Here are […]

In my life, there are lots of animals, but some will for always stand out a little more than others.
When my beloved Aslan had piroplasmosis a few months ago and died despite a very positive prognosis, I couldn’t blog about it. In life, there are a few things that happen that just aren’t “fair game”, […]

Last week, Isolde had the adventure of her life, when she followed her mother outside for the first time. It was small excursion, crossing the road in order to get to Josef and Renate’s large garden, but the world outside offered more than enough impressions for the young filly, who desperately tried to get in […]

I am off to Karin’s wedding today, in the very dress that Ringo made. As I know you will be eager to see some pictures, I will leave you with images from the Bachelorette Party (in Swedish called a ‘Möhippa’) that was held a few weeks ago.
The morning started with Hanna and I kidnapping a […]

The picture of the day this week is none other than a photo of Isolde saying hi to Tabita for the first time! Isolde loves people, and people just love her! Right now, Tabita’s games are all centered around “Arwen the horse” and “Isolde the foal” and Isolde is happy to have so many people […]

This weekend, I took the train to Gothenburg and spent two life quality days with an old friend of mine. It was fab! I also got the opportunity to look for clothes for Niger, which isn’t as easy as it seems. First of all, the fabrics should preferably be natural, or I will only be […]

It’s the ninth of September, my mother’s birthday.
Falkenberg, Sweden - Winter 2007
What I miss the most is the little moments. A cup of coffee. A simple chat. An update and the “all-and-nothings” of life. Although I often find myself reminiscing about the great moments, it’s the little moments that I miss. The ones we so […]

On our last day in Falun, Hanna took me up to Lugnet (which literally means “Calmness” in Swedish).
Lugnet is a large sport complex located in Falun, Sweden. 58 of the Swedish Sports Confederation’s 67 special sports can be practiced there. There are 6 full sized indoor pitches in the area where everything from dance to […]
