Yesterday, we had another rain in Zinder (!), which makes this one of the longest rainy seasons I’ve ever experienced during my time in Niger.
The rains that come now towards the end of the season are lighter and much “cleaner” than the ones that come in June, often mixed with whicked sandstorms! To see the difference, here’s a picture from a July storm at the field station, which came during the week of Sowing (just as we were wrapping up for the day):

I got caught in a sandstorm once in Nevada…I was cleaning the sand out of my pockets for days.
