Yesterday evening, Ali met up with us at the office to tell us that Esmeralda had given birth. Finally! After a year of waiting, we thought the day would never come!

The little newcomer was the sweetest little female kid (yay for that as we will no longer be keeping male goats at Ishtar’s Ark!)

Anette already had a name in store for her: Allis!

And being a 90% copy of her father (no white spots so far, hurray!) her Hausa name will be yar’Amadeus (daughter of Amedeus).

We hope however that she has inherited her mother’s graceful (and sensible!) character!
