One little lady has been growing quite a lot lately - the trend so far is an additional kg every week… When Sheba the RR could no longer squeeze into her first love of a water tub, she finally accepted the larger container we had bought for her (which she thoroughly ignored the first few weeks) and installed herself in its clean and refreshing water…
Since Sheba is one of those dogs who need to do things in her own time, here is a lesson for me as her owner to learn:
When Sheba wants a small and tight water container, there’s no point in buying her a new one until the new one is as proportionally tight and small as the previous one!
Sheba Owner Advice #1
The purpose of a water container is obviously to create the coziest feel possible…
Who cares if you can hardly fit in there?
Life is good!
And by the way, there is no need to install a jacuzzi for this life enjoyer, as she does this part (of putting her nose under water and blowing out air) by herself. Her father’s owner Maria said that Navy does the exact same thing, so obviously, someone is being her father’s daughter!
Sheba and I obviously have a few things in common. Who ever heard of enjoying the moments, rather than waiting for them to come to you? Life is what you make of it!
And when you are done, go enjoy some wonderful sunbathing on the veranda which your human should have cleaned for you by now…

Sheba is adorable! The days of soaking in water are long gone here in the NW. The fall is beautiful and we are enjoying dry days with a brilliant blue sky.
Aww, your post made me smile HUGE! Sheba is a dog that knows her mind. And it looks like she knows best, too.
Wonderful photos of her and you,too

I was laughing all the way through this post. You are hilarious!
I’m amazed at how big Sheba is getting.
Kylie, my Belgian Terv and Finn, my Border Collie are both water dogs (the other two, only when it’s really hot)
I even had to fence my pond off to keep the Terv out of it…if she had her way she would be in it 24/7.
They do have a kiddie swimming pool to lounge around in and Finn has a small water trough to cool off in down by the livestock.
@Lori: Thanks! I’ll tell Anette who took the pictures while I was doing my best trying to please our little gal!
@Lisa: I’m learning to trust Sheba’s instincts - while doing my best not to spoil her rotten….. which is turning out to be very difficult though (not to spoil her…). She gives us so much joy though and is such a cutie… and a smart one too!
@Pat: Thanks! I am amazed too at how fast Sheba is growing. She doesn’t fit into my lap anymore!
@Wrensong Farm: Dogs are such life enjoyers! I wasn’t expecting an RR to love water so much since the Azawakh has a catlike relationship to it, but it’s so cool that she does. What breeds are your other two dogs?
