Although I prefer to spend my spare time in the Zinder bush or with our pets over at Ishtar’s Ark, I was recently reminded of how many photo ops you find in the city, even when you’re just in for a quick visit. The city center is situated just a 15 min walk from Eden street (which in turn is just a 10 min walk from the bush - in the opposite direction) and all of the pictures below were taken on the City Avenue.
Haske the “Auto Ecole” - where I took my Nigerien driving license some ten years ago… Time flies!

The avenue ends at the Tribune, which was where the president sat and watched the Niger National Day parades in 2006. If you haven’t seen the pix yet, you sure must!

Women in these garbs, how alluring their gait. And, aren’t men dashing, kerchief and sun glasses for headgear, astride their motorbikes? Hmm! that pungent haze I used to breathe in. In hindsight, makes me homesick. Great pics. Thanks for posting.
Wow. Such a busy place. Like you, I prefer the countryside over cities. Though there are always interesting things about cities, too.
Wonderful photos
