Remember the avenue pictures I posted a week ago?
Well, if you head towards Nigeria in the roundabout, you will eventually get to the post office, which is situated opposite of Marhaba, currently the fastest Internet Cypercafé in town.
As for the road, it happens to be a good place to stop if you need to do some expat shopping-
…or catch up with old friends-
… or enjoy more Zinder City photo opportunities!
There is always something to do!

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a Trackbackhey esther, how receptive are people in Niger to being photographed, in general?
@Kari: That depends! People you don’t know can be offended or ask you for money, but most people enjoy the interest, and if you only show them the image on the display, they’re happy about it! There was a time I was so careful that people reprimanded me for not taking their pictures, and these days I just ask with a gesture, and their smile tells me they’d love to feature on the camera. How are things in Senegal?
Love the women on the street photos. Also thanks for showing Sheba (the dog who is becoming a horse) and the poignant tale of Dennis! West Africa is looking quite attractive on your site!
Hi Esther, this post took me down memory lane. The towns are all so similar in West Africa. I have always LOVED the petrol stations (do you call them gas stations?) Rows and rows of all kinds of bottles filled with petrol. Oh my, such a vibrant country, Africa. I love every part of her and her wonderful people. Thanks for the trip! Hugs Jo
Wow, talk about colorful life! Esther, I cannot get enough of your blog!
@Fe: Life is what you make of it. I could fill the blog about all the things that seem out of function in the least developed country in the world, or I can pay my respects and look at the bright things, the charming things, and the things that are greater and even more impressive here than elsewhere.
@Jo: So glad to bring you down memory lane! Africa is so vibrant, there is no end to photo opportunities available!!!
@Asta: So glad you liked it! When was it again that Isis is coming down for a photo shoot…?
