Every night, the sun goes down over the Zinder bush, but unlike man-made things, the sky always leaves its unique touch.
I know the Zinder bush like the back of my hand, and yet, I am always full of expectations to see what the particular sunset of the day will be like.
Every afternoon, there is the same question: What’s on tonight? Will it be gentle or raw? Wild or tame? Romantic pink or passionate orange? I never known beforehand, and I never cease to enjoy the end result!
There is nothing like a canvas in the sky to make you seize the moment, and enjoy life for what it really is. So often, we wait for great things to come to us, and yet, life quality is there, in the midst of the little things. The things we often take for granted. I never thought so much about sunrises and sunsets until I started skywatching, but now I look for them every day. They remind me of all the things I have to be grateful for, and that regardless of what our lives have been like or how tiresome our day maybe have been, there is a new chapter waiting for us every morning and every night - and we get to choose when to turn the page!

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackEsther…we are on the same wave length today…check out my sunrise photos. YOURS ARE MAGNIFIQUE!!!! OOOOH LA LA.
I see the unique touch of a big brush on the big canvas…but why do I also see a smoky nightclub in my head? Lovely meditational quality in these.
Oh My Dear African Philopher-ess!
Yours are words to live by! How many times have we had a “awful, terrible, very bad day” or just an annoying one? Then we step outside, the breeze catches our hair, the sun shows off before he steps out to visit the neighbors on the other side of the world, and suddenly, that annoying stuff no longer signifies. Yea wind and sunsets!
“I never thought so much about sunrises and sunsets until I started skywatching” I was just thinking where to find a nice sky for the next post. That memo makes you look up. But I think I’ll pass this week.
I too find myself looking at the sky more since I’ve been participating in Skywatch. Beautiful pics!
Beautiful post both in words and visions!
you really get the best of sunsets there!!!
C’est un beau coucher de soleil! Les silhouettes des arbres sont sensationnelles, et le ciel…serein.
Salutations des Étas-Unis!
The silhouettes in these are spectacular! I especially like the last one. Very dramatic.
And yes, the sun - rising or setting - is never the same twice. And I never get tired of seeing what it will do next.
I always love your words. They ring so clear and true. And your skies over the zinder bush are a welcome surprise each time you show them. These are all wonderful photos, but I especially love the last one.

I agree that the sky is a often a beautiful canvas. These skies certainly are.
i know what you mean when you say you know it like the back of your hand. while it is the same, it isn’t as it changes with the weather, the time of day, and such. beautiful shots.
I enjoyed reading your thoughts on this, Esther. So true. We have beauty all around us if we only look for it.
All the photos are gorgeous, but I like the last one best.
Gorgeous shots of a wonderful sky! And I enjoyed reading your thoughts too!
I like the duo in the midlle. Nice silhouettes of exotic trees with brilliant sky. No wonder you can’t wait to see the next one. And no wonder why you like them so much. Happy SWF!
Absolutely beautiful photos - Great shots!!!
The clouds really make this set of pictures exceptional!
I love the smoky sky. The color is magnificent. And, the last picture is awesome.
Yes skywatching is a wunderful part of our life. The best moments were when you forgot the camera, so you can only keep it in your mind.
Yes there is Swedish flag in my entry, and a Götaborg-canal flag. I had two wonderful weeks from Söderköping to Göteborg.
Have a nice weekend

Stunning photos of the most awesome sunsets - I miss my daily dose of African sunset
I love the photos! I’m a big fan of sunset shots, sometimes I feel those are the only photos I truly enjoy taking. Nice to see that someone else enjoys the sunset as much as I do! I enjoy reading your blog and will visit more now that I found it!
