Despite appearances (as suggested by her presence at Ishtar’s Ark and the fact that she spent a lot of money to come and visit us), my dear friend Hanna is not known for her love of animals (except for the occasional cat). Prior to arrival, she was asked about her expectations at coming to live at Esther & Anette’s “Ark” and dryly replied:

My relationship to animals is best defined in that I eat them.

But that was before she got to know them. The babies of Ishtar’s Ark were quick to ask for a new pair of hands, and within a week, Hanna confessed the unexpected: she was falling in love!

It didn’t make matters any worse that Sahara let her enjoy the breathtakingly beautiful Zinder bush from a higher position, and with speed underneath.

On her own blog, Hanna wrote a post saying that she’d been brainwashed by me as she was falling in love with animals. But when animals are well-taken care of, trust their humans and are allowed to contribute according to their abilities, what’s not to love about them? If Hanna was brainwashed, the main culprits in this story are none other than Sheba and Kalahari (the babies of Ishtar’s Ark), who quickly found out that Hanna had a weak spot for them and made sure to ask for her attention whenever they could! Well done, girls!
