It is Midsummer Eve in Sweden today and the sun is hiding, but I don’t mind. My sister and I are spending the evening with our grandparents, who are visiting from Norway. Tomorrow, I go to visit Anette in Varberg (about 30 km north of where I live) and on Sunday, we’re both going on an RR excursion with Sheba’s kennel to the island of Ven, which I haven’t visited before.
Sheba in West Africa
Since both Anette and I miss Sheba but won’t be seeing her for a while, we thought it would be nice to meet some of her many aunts, uncles, cousins and siblings. They’re all beautiful RRs and I’m hoping Sheba’s mother Imazi will be there so that I can take some good pictures of her!

My father left for Niger yesterday and will be arriving in Zinder tonight. My thirteen-year-old cousin Daniel is coming with him, so I think the guys (my brother included) will be having a fabulous time this rainy season!

Daniel grew up in Niger (in the very house that Anette and I now live in!), but moved to Norway with his family in 2007. This will be his first visit in two years, and I am hoping he will take (and send!) many pictures of his adventure!
…The guests have arrived, and I wish you all: GLAD MIDSOMMAR!
PS: If you want to know what Midsummer in Sweden is all about, fellow (Swedish) blogger Lifecruiser has an informative post about it today. You find the link here.

sounds like a wonderful plan to see all sheba’s family and at least emotionally feel close to her though far from your sweetie ^..^ she is such a beautiful dog.

Love the sunflower and all the cousins/family in and out of Niger! Hope the sun comes out soon!
I’m looking forward to seeing Sheba’s family. If they’re anything like her, then I’m sure they’ll be gorgeous!
Lovely sunny sunflower you’ve got there. And your pappa is shining like the sun in that photo too
Thanks for linking to my Midsommar-post. I’ll write another one later today, with some photos from the celebrations. Folkdancers.
I hope you’ll have a fabulous stay in Sweden - they says that the weather will improve now and at Wednesday we’ll come up to 26C!!!!
Hurray!
I like your sunflower picture. I do hope the rain stops and the sun comes out for the longest day of the year this weekend. Interesting link to your midsommar traditions.
Hoppas Hventuren var trevlig och vädret bra. Köpte du getost på Hven? Den är så jättegod deras ost
Må så gott!

What cute little boys!
Have fun visiting Sheba’s relatives. And again, Happy Midsummers Day tomorrow!
Hello Esther,
Raining here in CO, too - a world away from you. Have a wonderful visit with Family and a very good time on your R & R excursion. Your animals in Niger seem to be in capable hands.
An RR excursion sounds great. Can’t wait to hear about it. I love that pic below of Sheba kissing you in thanks of her goat milk probably.
Cute!
