I’m off to work with little time to write, but here are some pictures of Sheba’s Seven that my dad has been sending me. It’s lovely to come back from work and open a mailbox full of images of little rascals! You’ve asked a lot of questions, which I hope to come back to in full, but here are a few quick replies: We hope to keep as many as possible, which can be anything from three to seven. Yes, three of them have ridges. The lighter puppies (the firstborn female and the lastborn male) might be taking after their uncle Baloo, as Baghera himself was an all-black newborn. Two of the puppies (a male and a female) have inherited Baghera’s dark, dark babycoat, but they won’t stay as dark as they are now. Kashalee & others - I won’t be back in Niger until the puppies are eight weeks old, but thankfully, there is Internet these days!
Here are the puppy pics now, hope you enjoy!

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackOh wow Esther, I could see the ridges of one brown pup in many of the photos, especially the fifth one where he/she is “latched” on. Oh your dad must be so pleased it all went well, not to mention YOU. Of course Sheba’s expression is “Well, what did you expect from such a smart dog as I?” Hugs Jo xxx
Really, too much cuteness! I am completed addicted to the antics of these puppies already!
Sheba looks so happy and proud of herself. Better you than me with a houseful of puppies. I’m finding Martha still has a bit of puppy nonsense in her. She still doesn’t quite have the housebreaking thing worked out. Patience!
Bet you can’t wait to get back to them all!
Those puppies are so cute! Gotta love the internet. I think it is so cool that your Dad sends updates to you in Sweden all the way from Africa. How cool is that???
I want one! They are all adorable. Sheba looks a little recovered, a happy and proud mother.
Oh Esther, they are wonderful! Sheba looks like she’s a good mama. Thanks so much for sharing these first few days with us. It really brightens my morning to stop by and check in on the puppies.
Wow fertility rate high in dogs too nice
Awww..so sweet. Sheba is a great mama. It’s amazing how maternal instincts kick in for canines, even in a barely (almost?) one-year-old like Sheba.
Oh sweet babies! I would be going crazy to get back to them!
That’s quite a litter, the pups and proud mom are so cute.
They are just too cute. It would be hard to let them go.
Such beautiful pups and what a proud Mama! Love seeing their tiny, pink feet. What a delight!
Great shots.

Esther: Congrats on the additions to the family.
The puppies area adorable. Sheba has taken to motherhood right away, it seems. When you return, they’ll be ready to play and almost ready to take (short) walks with you.
Great pictures. Thanks.
Oh my goodness, the babies are just divine! And Sheba looks like such a good mother…she is a natural!

Sheba looks like a proud mama, she should be!
I’m getting puppy fever, yearning for puppy breath, they are so lovely, they look like they have the wheaten hair of the RR
Now I just got my puppy fix of the day! They are so adorable, everyone of them, including Sheba!
Oh - just too adorable!! Can I have one, please…
My goodness! Eight of them, and Sheeba looks so proud. They are all little bundles of sheer cuteness. Congratulations Grandma!
They are adorable. A couple of weeks and Sheba will have here
handspaws full chasing after them.I’m absolutely in love with their little pink feet!
I love raising puppies! You will be getting back when they are at their cutest.
Esther,
I’m amazed at how Sheba went from looking like a puppy to looking like a “Mom”. What a transformation she’s undergone! And what beautiful puppies!
How absolutely adorable!!!! Those puppies are so incredibly cute and their Mommy also. What a good mother she is.
Sheba looks great and so do the puppies. Glad your Dad is sending photos! Thanks.
Sheba has a full-time job there! It will be nice to have some pups from your Mother’s Baghera. They’re chubby little sausages.
