It’s my mother’s birthday today. She would have been 57 years old.

It’s the day before taking the flight to Africa, but it’s still a special day. Her day.

Like any daughter, I would have given a lot just to be able to share a cup of coffee again and talk about the little things; sharing a moment, long or short. Despite the ache and the longing, I know I am rich in moments shared and my heart treasures them. There is an endless room for love in our hearts, and pain is often the greatest reminder of it.

It is true: “The good, they die young.”
Have a safe trip home.
A beautiful memorial to your mother.
May you have a safe trip back to Zinder and a joyous reunion with Sheba and the horses!
Happy Birthday Mom! Sweet pics Esther.

I’m very sorry you lost your Momma so young, mine was only 64 when she died in 2004. “Heaven needs good people too.”
Sweet remembrances with beautiful flowers aren’t the same as getting to be with each other, but it’s good to have wonderful memories and to know that you were well loved.
So sorry to hear that, she must be looking down at you smiling though with all the good work you are doing, the flowers are beautiful.
It is the little things you miss most. My mum passed away in 97, she was so young… The flowers are beautiful.
My mother is just two days older than yours so this post made me even more thoughtful than expected.
I like the flower block at the bottom. Have a safe journey back home.
No words can say enough. I am sorry for your loss. I hope I can be the kind of mom that is missed this much and I hope I can leave behind the kind of wonderful children your mom has. Until you meet again….
My thoughts are with you while you are flooded with memories of your Mom. I completely understand where you are coming from.I lost my Mom 5 years ago this June and her birthday would have been September 7th. She would have turned 50 this year. I kow they are both in a better place but you can’t help but imagine how nice it would be to share a couple more moments with them.
What a nice tribute…
I’m sure you shared some special words with your khoffee this morning!

This is a wonderful tribute to your mother’s love, as is your whole, rich life.
I feel sad for that part of you, Esther, that will always miss your mother. But, your life is a tribute to her. May your memories bring you peace and happiness.

A beautiful and touching tribute. Wherever she is now, I know she’s proud of you and the person you’ve become. That’s the greatest gift you could ever have given her. It’s eternal and not bound to the world we know.
Happy Birthday!
Esther, she lives through you. Hugs.
