My last African Skywatch was in June.

We were just a few days short of leaving for Sweden,

and took the dogs out for one last long walk.

Sheba loves skywatching as much as we do, which is probably because we love it so much. It’s always an excursion, and the show never ends until the sky is done for the day.

I can’t believe I’m finally - after three months in Sweden - sitting on a plane, heading back to West Africa! Looking forward to new skywatch moments with Sheba and the other critters of Ishtar’s Ark!

Hope you have a safe trip! I’m sure your flock of creatures will be happy to see you!
have a safe flight!
If I’m remembering right, I believe the words I want here are “mycket vackert!” That final shot should be in a gallery. Absolutely gorgeous!
On the road again. Look forward to the reunion with all your favorite buds at home. They will be so glad to see you.
Oh Esther, fly fast and safe. Can’t wait to hear about your homecoming.
Hi Esther, have a safe journey - I’m sure Sheba is telling her pups and the horses that you’ll be home soon… Blessings Jo
Good for you. You have been so anxious about it in your blog that it´s better you are transported there immediately!
I love the second photos - neat perspective! And I’m looking forward to more great Niger posts…
You’re going home!! I’m half a world away in the U.S. Midwest and we don’t even know each other, but I started feeling anxious for your return home after you posted about your beloved animals being neglected.
It’s clear you take very good care of them and notice when they’re off their feed, so to speak. So I can’t even imagine what it was like to be so far away and not be able to run your hands over them, figure out where they hurt, feed them well, make them comfortable and then get up the next day and do it all over again.
It will be so nice to read your posts as you reconnect and settle in with them.
Excelsior!

Lovely photos! It must be very hard to leave there, even for a little while.
Though I’ve enjoyed your Swedish postings, Esther, your Niger photos are very special. I’m sure you’re excited to see your animals and family in Africa. Lovely silhouette of the tree in the sunset.
Happy landings! Have fun with Sheba and the pups.
Yay! Hurray!! I can’t wait to see Sheba’s reaction to seeing you again.
That last shot is such a classic African sunset, like something out of all those films set in Africa.
Nice shots, especially the one with you and Sheba.
Oh Esther, there’s no place like home.
What a combination of countries: Sweden and Nigeria! How your head must spin making the transition. Power to you and yours!!
Super!
Great skywatching
