If I'm having a conversation with them, he figures they must be okay, though he's not going to go out of his way to make friends. (<i>That</i> you must <i>earn</i>!) But even when he's decided they're "okay" he's keeping an eye on them. Because in his world, "his" people are cool... but the <i>rest</i> of you characters are <i>totally</i> sketchy.
