It is Christmas time even here in hot Africa. Miriam, Renate and the girls have been preparing diligently and just a few days ago, Miriam invited Tabita over to make a gingerbread house.

First, they made gingerbread cookies,

…which turned out very well!

…and then there was the Gingerbread House itself,

which they decorated with ice sugar and smarties.

The end result was a beautiful little brown cottage with all the snow we will be seeing during Christmas this year!

Guess if someone was proud!!

All of us in the snow at Skoog Farm wish you and ALL of your family a very Merry Christmas…and that goes for all the sweet critters on both ends.
What beautiful girls. Merry Christmas from snowy cold Utah to hot Niamey!
(The house looks beautiful as well.)
Tabita dear, your culinary artwork makes my heart melt.
Cherished memories of those moments will last you a lifetime.
Seen from afar, through the prism of your parents’ heart, Europe’s a tidy fairy tale.
Keep it that way as long as you are allowed to.
You’ll someday soon enjoy following your aunt’s forays through the Zinder bush.
Ishtar rising, your mount will gently rock you through dusk back to its stable.
Those memories will remain your fondest.

And she should be proud, the house came out very well. I always love doing that with my granddaughter. We didn’t get to do one this year but it is always a lot of fun.
Does Tabita take commissions? I could fancy one of those myself. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas.

Good job, girls!!
God jul and gott nytt år!
What a beautiful gingerbread house, Tabita! Well done. Esther, can you get Smarties in Niger or did Renate bring them back from Europe? Have a wonderful, precious time with your gorgeous family and all the animals as well. (((Hugs))) Jo

What a smile! She gets that from her Aunt Esther doesn’t she? Or does it just run in the family?
The gingerbread house is lovely! Tabitha looks very pleased with herself and she is adorable.
