It’s been a long time since I blogged about any of the animals, and since I am in a “longing for Africa” mode tonight, I realised it was time to blog about the horses again!
I never told you what happened to Maya, Sahara’s younger sister who stayed with us for a couple of weeks, the one who used to accompany me in the bush and amaze all the villagers of the fact that she was loose.
Well, first of all, as with all undernourished animals, she gained a lot of weight and grew in size! Eventually, both Anette and I tired of having an extra filly that was too young for us to ride, and decided to send her out in the bush instead. It turned out so however that another expat family wanted a horse for their kids, so a few days before I went to Sweden, Maya moved into her new home.
Although she still comes around for visits, she now belongs to a new flock consisting of humans, dogs, turtles, pigs and a monkey! Talk about an opportunity to develop her social skills…
