Rya is one of the most intriguing non-playable characters in Elden Ring, serving as a scout for Volcano Manor and offering players a unique path through the Lands Between. Completing her storyline allows players to uncover deeply hidden lore while securing rare items like Daedicar's Woe. Navigating her quest line requires visiting multiple locations across Liurnia, Altus Plateau, and Mt. Gelmir.

Starting Rya Quest in Liurnia of the Lakes

Players first encounter Rya standing inside a small stone pavilion located east of the Scenic Isle Site of Grace in Liurnia of the Lakes. She informs you that a thief stole her necklace and asks for your assistance in retrieving it. Heading slightly northwest leads to the Boilprawn Shack, where Blackguard Big Boggart resides. Purchasing the necklace for 1,000 runes allows you to return it to Rya in exchange for a Volcano Manor Invitation.

Meeting Rya at Altus Plateau

After helping her in Liurnia, Rya relocates to the Altus Plateau to guide you directly to Volcano Manor. Depending on how you access the region, she appears either near the Lux Ruins at Erdtree-Gazing Hill or right beside the Grand Lift of Dectus. Interacting with her at these locations triggers a direct teleportation to the Volcano Manor drawing room. This interaction offers players an easy route to access Mt. Gelmir without battling through difficult outer areas.

Uncovering Secrets inside Volcano Manor

Once inside Volcano Manor, accepting Lady Tanith's invitation progresses Rya's narrative further. After completing early assassination contracts, Rya reveals her true serpent form named Zoraya inside one of the estate rooms. Investigating nearby hidden passages leads players deep into the subterranean legacy dungeon surrounding the Temple of Eiglay. Defeating the Godskin Noble boss awards the Serpent's Amnion key item needed to advance her dialogue.

Deciding Rya Fate and Quest Outcomes

Handing over the Serpent's Amnion causes Rya to relocate to a hidden alcove beyond the Temple of Eiglay elevator shortcut. Players must decide whether to grant her request, give her the Tonic of Forgetfulness from Tanith, or leave her unharmed until defeating Rykard. Refusing her request and defeating Rykard yields Zoraya's Letter alongside her talisman. Each choice provides distinct lore insights into the sinister experiments conducted within the manor.
