Thanks to the African Grey Parrot on the veranda, the trees at the Eden office in Zinder are frequently visited by larger birds. This time it was a baby owl. At the most, I’ve seen six of them at the same time, sitting just a meters from the bird cage. As you can imagine, there is a vivid chatter going on, as Jackie the African Grey knows how to speak many (bird) languages! In contrary to the hawks (who are no friends of the parrots!), the owls are not shy, but just sit there at a safe spot in the top of a tree and check you out with as much interest as you have in them. Cool beings!
