A melon is a very interesting object.

img_0899.jpg

You can hug it, if you like.

img_0898.jpg

You can lick it.

img_0901.jpg

You can try to grab it with your front teeth, although it should be noted for the record, that this is not an easy skill to possess.

img_0897.jpg

Should you fail at the above, you can always chew on it.

This is bound to boost your confidence in the Art of Handling a Melon.

After that, it’s all fun!

img_0917.jpg

You can play catch with the melon,

img_0904.jpg

…and you can throw it back at whoever threw it for you.

img_0918.jpg

You can attack the melon,

img_0921.jpg

…make sure it does not elude you,

img_0922.jpg

…and when you want it to escape again, you can bring it back to your human,

img_0927.jpg

so that you can attack it all over again!

img_0928.jpg

Although you could technically bring it back to your human endless amount of times,

img_0909.jpg

…presenting it proudly, preferably like this (and remember to get caught on camera with all four feet in the air, that is a fabulous RR skill to posess!)-

img_0929.jpg

…you can also pick it up and run away with it!

Should your human suddenly wonder why you didn’t want to play chase with the Melon anymore, just tell her the Melon went silent and that you didn’t feel like bouncing after it anymore. But don’t except her to understand; after all, it’s a Rhodesian Ridgeback thing, and we are such an exclusive breed. Just look back at her with the Simple (Steady) Gaze (very unlike what you just portraid five minutes ago) and make sure to look gorgeous. She will play with you the next time you’re up to it, I promise.

Oh, and if you remember, try to keep your ear down. Humans tend to take you more seriously when you do.
